ANALYSIS AND DESIGN SUBCOMMITTEE
SCOPE OF THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
SUBCOMMITTEE'S RESPONSIBILITIES
The analysis and design subcommittee will be responsible for issues related
to analysis and design features of Staad:
- Static and dynamic, analysis and design as well as nonlinear design
features of Staad
- Related modeling issues (physical members, working points/eccentricities,
instabilities)
- Finite element analysis capabilities
- Code checking features (steel, concrete, aluminum, wood, etc.), including
the incorporation of the latest design codes and/or additional design codes
- Specialized design items (bridges, cable structures, nuclear plants,
soil/structure interaction, etc.)
The committee will also be responsible for:
- Evaluating recommendations made by other users
- Critiquing these changes prior to their implementation
- Recommending improvements to documentation
The analysis and design subcommittee might also make recommendations
to other committees regarding items that would make the analysis or design
easier to implement.
The chairman of this committee will have the responsibility of closing
our items on the analysis and design action list after implementation by
Research Engineers, Inc.
